Athletes of the Week

Boys cross country

Taylor Guske of Lakewood was first in the Hole in the Wall Invitational meet and led his team to a first-place finish by taking first in a three-team Cascade Conference meet.





Girls cross country

Alison Ponce of Jackson was fourth in the Richland Invite and led her team to a first-place finish by taking first in a four-team Wesco meet.





Football

Justin Lane of Lakewood completed 26 of 43 passes for a school-record 325 yards and four touchdowns in a 68-35 loss to Archbishop Murphy.





Boys tennis

Andrew Lee of Kamiak won in three sets at No. 4 singles to give the Knights a 4-3 win over Jackson and a share of first place in the Wesco South.





Girls soccer

Kaleen Berg of Lake Stevens scored four goals in a 7-0 win over Marysville-Pilchuck and three in a 4-1 win over Oak Harbor.







Volleyball

Linde Maertens of Coupeville had 26 digs and 21 kills in a 3-2 loss to South Whidbey.









Girls swimming

Emily Ferreira of Snohomish won the 200-yard individual medley and 100 breaststroke and swam on two winning relay teams in a 106-77 win over Oak Harbor and a 95-88 win over Marysville-Pilchuck.
