A loss on the road -- again 10/6/08
Cute, yes, but exotic pets aren't for young kids 10/6/08

Turn that frown upside down

Posted at 12:01 am by Katie Mayer, Herald staff

It's nothing but doom and gloom in the news lately. But after looking at lots of pictures of baby animals, we're feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, so let us help you spot some silver linings:

The news: Speaking of clouds, you probably won't see much else the next few days, judging by the wind and showers in the forecast.

The silver lining: You can procrastinate just a little longer on all those outdoor chores you've already been putting off since June.

The news: Pediatricians are warning parents that exotic animals such as hedgehogs shouldn't be kept as pets in households with young children because of health risks.

The silver lining: If your child loses a toy hedgehog, you won't have to worry about finding a pointy pet with a nervous disposition when you put on your shoes.

The news: The Giants held off the Seahawks without breaking a sweat Sunday, handing Seattle its worst loss on the road in nearly 28 years.

The silver lining: With editing software, you can create a video that makes it look like the Seahawks won and watch that instead.
