Lake Stevens assistant coach collapses

EVERETT — Lake Stevens High School assistant coach Kyle Bigham collapsed on the sideline during the playing of the national anthem Friday prior to the football game between the Vikings and the Mariner Marauders at Goddard Stadium.

Medical personnel treated Bigham, 31, for 15 minutes before he was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The start of the game was delayed 45 minutes.

Bigham was transported to the Colby Campus of Providence Regional Medical Center Everett where he was being treated Friday night, Lake Stevens athletic director Ed Bailey said.

Bailey did not know the cause of Bigham’s collapse.

As of 11 p.m., Bigham was in stable condition and all signs looked “encouraging” Bailey said.
