"Fly Paine Field" takes flight

Posted at 1:09 pm by Jerry Cornfield

A new group is revving up its push for passenger airline service at Paine Field.

At this hour, leaders of Citizens Right to Fly from Paine Field are discussing their plans to help land commercial jet service to and from the Snohomish County airport.

Many of the folks were involved with “Fly From Everett,” a group that had hinted without saying for certain it backed passenger jet service.

Click here and you will get to the “Fly Paine Field” Web site which you'll notice is the same Internet address of the organization's previous incarnation.

Greg Tisdel is one of the leaders of the retooled group. He's been the point man for comment on the commercial airline issue for months..

Among the board members are Connie Niva, an Everett port commissioner; Mike Eichelbarger, a developer; Larry Sundquist, a developer and Gigi Burke, a co-owner of a beverage distribution company. All four are veterans of the county political scene.

Look for coverage on the group in tomorrow’s edition of The Herald.
