More than 60 schools on federal watch list

More than 60 Snohomish County schools have landed on the federal No Child Left Behind list of schools that need improvement.

Schools are placed on the list based on how groups of students perform on state reading and math exams. Students are tracked by income and race as well as English language proficiency. Special-education students also are tracked. The state has not released details on why schools have been listed.
