Save a buck: Free car washes

Last year, Brown Bear gave away 19,000 free car washes as a thank-you to drivers.

The success of that promotion spurred the company to repeat the offer this year, in celebration of 51 years of service. From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, drivers can get a free "Bear Essential" car wash -- a basic tunnel wash without a polish or wax.

The Everett Brown Bear at 3523 Broadway can be contacted at 425-252-8400. For a list of other participating locations in the Puget Sound area, visit www.brownbear.com.
