Seattle's Green Lake closed after 50 metal spikes found near shore

SEATTLE — Seattle’s Green Lake has been closed to swimmers and police are investigating after dozens of metal spikes were found embedded underwater close to the shoreline.
About 50 spikes have been found so far.
Pat Boltz was wading in the water near the boathouse last Sunday when he stepped on one, cutting his foot. He quickly found 10 more.
The spikes are 1-1/2 to 2 feet long and seem to be sharpened at the end. Boltz alerted the Parks Department, which called Seattle police. Harbor Patrol units found about 40 more spikes.
