Lake Stevens' Tri signs with SPU track

Brittany Tri, a recent Lake Stevens High graduate, will compete in track and field at Seattle Pacific University. Tri signed an NCAA National Letter of Intent June 16, her father Bill Tri said.

Brittany Tri, also a standout basketball player, qualified for the 2008 4A state track meet in two events (110-meter hurdles and high jump). She will compete in multi-events (heptathlon and pentathlon) and several individual events for Seattle Pacific.

In addition to the $9,500 athletic scholarship she received from SPU, Tri previously got a $1,000 scholarship at the Washington State Combined Event Championships and a $500 Michael Heath Scholarship, which is awarded each year to a Lake Stevens track and field athlete, Bill Tri said.
