Shoreline

Shoreline Arts Festival: 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, June 28 & 29, Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council hosts this celebration of art at Shoreline Center, 18560 First Ave. NE, Shoreline, with continuous entertainment, music and dance, juried art shows, photography show, artists and artists in action, hands-on art, and food. The Missoula Children's Theatre will present "Red Riding Hood," featuring a cast of 50 local students (separate $6 admission); other events include "Art from the Attic" Recycled Art Sale, Northwest Collage Society Exhibit and Collage Making workshop, Shoreline Philippine Festival, Chinese Cultural Room, Eritrean African Cultural Room and a used book sale. Swingin' Summer Eve: 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council and the City of Shoreline host this annual event that includes live music, a barbecue fundraiser by the Shoreline Fire Dept. and pre-concert games and activities for children, at Cromwell Park, 18009 Meridian Ave. N., Shoreline. Celebrate Shoreline: Noon-5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15-17, Shoreline's 13th birthday celebration includes a teen skateboard competition and party event at the Connie King Skate Park; a 5K walk/run and 10K run, parade, a festival at Ridgecrest Elementary School featuring food booths, arts & crafts, community groups and car show and a sandcastle contest at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park. Kenmore

Skandia Midsommarfest: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, June 29. Skandia Folkdance Society's 50th annual authentic Nordic celebration of the summer solstice features a folk parade and raising of the Midsommar Pole, dancing, music, children's activities, traditional handicrafts and food and participants in authentic Nordic costumes, at St. Edward State Park, Kenmore. Mill Creek

Meet Me in Mill Creek Festival: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday & Sunday, July 12 & 13, 8th annual festival features entertainment stages, children's activities, arts and crafts, food court & wine bistro, car show, Pet Plaza, non-competitive walk, non-profit organization and commercial booths on Main Street between 153rd St. SE and 151st St. SE, Mill Creek Town Center. Mountlake Terrace

Tour de Terrace: Noon-11 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, July 25-27, the annual festival sponsored by Terrace Brier Lions Club begins with a parade Friday evening; Saturday's festivities kick off in the morning with a 5K run, pancake breakfast, then continue with a street fair, live music, a carnival, miniature golf, arts & crafts, a car show and a fireworks display at 10 p.m., all at Evergreen Playfields, 56th Ave. W & 224th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace. A Taste of Edmonds: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday & Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8-10, Washington's 2nd largest three-day festival celebrates its 26th year of offering tastes of local restaurants and food vendors, arts & crafts booths, children's area, four entertainment stages, roaming performers and separate beer and wine gardens, at Civic Playfield, Sixth & Bell, Edmonds. Brier SeaScare & Porchlight Parade: 6-10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, this casual community event features a kid-focused parade with a "sea" theme -- scary sea creatures, octopi, pirates, boats, nautical or any sea related idea, kid's games and activities, food drive, book sale, musical entertainment, pie eating contest, "Outdoor Cinema," and food and beverages, in downtown Brier, between Brier Library (232th) and Brier Realty (238th).
