Seems Like Yesterday

50 years ago (1958)

Men and women of Norwegian descent in and around Everett were celebrating Norway's Independence Day at Normanna Hall. Also sponsoring the event were Sons of Norway, Thelma Lodge, Daughters of Norway and the Norwegian Male Chorus. The main speaker for the event was Sen. Henry M. Jackson.

Runner Jack Larson displayed his easy stride during a warm-up for Saturday's big Northern Division track-and-field tournament at Seattle. The University of Washington sophomore from Arlington was ready to take on Frank Wyatt of Idaho for the sixth time.



25 years ago (1983)

Snohomish County PUD was to consolidate four of its facilities to Everett Business Park by July, manager W.G. Hulbert announced. The offices would occupy a 33,855-square-foot space.
