Boyle's story about Weinberg a winner

I love happy endings. John Boyle's front-page story Thursday about Grant Weinberg, a Grace Academy junior who nearly died of cardiac arrest, has to make anyone smile. It's a well-written, heartwarming story that teaches us lessons about our own lives. I thought John did a magnificent job of bringing it all home.

I especially loved the inclusion of Kayla Burt, the former Arlington and UW athlete who went through the same thing five years ago. Both Weinberg and Burt agreed that theirs was a life-changing event. Weinberg said he'll never take another day for granted. Kid's already got a leg up on most of us.

Burt even said her event was the best thing that ever happened to her, which is further reason why she's one of my favorite people of all time. If it's all the same to you, Kayla, I have to stick with the birth of my daughter -- or possibly Disneyland, thankyouverymuch.
