Contact Carol MacPherson (cmacpherson@heraldnet.com or 425-339-3472).   Published: Tuesday, May 13, 2008 SEX OFFENDERS Policies pose clear and present danger While reading the article about the sex offender that was released from prison with the assurance that his domicile would be the safety of a bridge underpass, I was absolutely appalled that misplaced priorities would be so prevalent among educated professionals whose primary concern is supposed to be the safety of the public. When an illegal alien crosses our border and gives birth to a child, DSHS will provide her with an apartment, food stamps, WIC certificates, and continued free health care. However, the fact that the Department of Corrections, which is funded by we the taxpayers as well, will release a dangerous predator to live among us as adults and our children without adequate supervision is the embodiment of ignorance, and the epitome of shame. If there was ever a time to clean house at the Department of Corrections, it certainly is now because their policies pose a clear and present danger to the community at large!
