Cerfus Day in Snohomish County, the County Council decided. Flags at Marysville city hall are flying at half-staff today in memory of Cerfus, an Army Reserve specialist who died May 5 during a military training exercise in Alberta, Canada. Cerfus, 25, worked as a custody officer for the Snohomish County Department of Corrections. Gov. Chris Gregoire is expected to order flags statewide to be flown at half-staff Tuesday. Cerfus grew up in the Phoenix area and moved to Marysville to live with his father, Michael Cerfus.
